WHAT TIME IS IT?

A Facebook post jostled my memory. It read:
“Thank you Jocelyn for introducing me to this type of atomic clock. It shows the time, day of the week and month, besides the indoor & outdoor temps and weather conditions. After seeing hers I told Sam I wanted one. Well…one was left at one of the elections Sam worked in our building & the owner never asked for it back so it’s ours! Except…the outdoor sensor was missing!
“Without the sensor the clock would accurately tell you the time, date, day of week, weather report and indoor temp but not outside temp. Sam told me to order a new sensor. It just came, I set it up, and the sensor and clock sync’d and it works!! I’m thrilled and best of all I can see it from my kitchen and breakfast bar!
“I have two satellite clocks. One is 8 minutes fast and the other is 4 minutes slow. My car which has an automatic clock is 5 minutes fast.”
Upon reading that post on May 20, 2025, I laughed. My mother never would have approved. Our clocks and watches had to be set for the exact time. Instead of a marine chronometer, she would have loved smartphones!
Today, my husband and I have matching alarm clocks in our bedroom, but they tick to their own drum, telling time minutes apart.
Our time/temperature mechanism in the kitchen displays incorrect outdoor temperatures as the day progresses and the outdoor sensor is exposed to the sun. Luckily, our iPhone Weather Channel app does a better job.
So, what time is it at your house? And, how’s the weather?
