EASY DOES IT!

When our 10-month-old grandson Easy visited, I noticed and predicted, “He’s ready to stand and walk.” I was met with the reaction, “But, he hasn’t crawled.” I quickly pushed aside that concern since his daddy never crawled.

Three days later, the video from his daycare center showed him reaching up and standing. The woman caring for him beamed with an astonished look, as she coaxed Easy with “Go, Go!” When he stood, everyone cheered, and his smile was worth a thousand words. I nearly wore out the tape watching it over and over again. 

After posting the clip from the daycare center to our family WhatsApp group, his mama wrote, “I love how excited the teachers are when he does it.” Granduncle Stuey, with his typical clever sense of humor, said, “They could have called it ‘Easy Does It!’” 

I enjoy writing blog posts such as this because they capture beautiful milestones to remember, and at times, a bonus, which, in this case, is a fine example of my brother Stu’s humor. I get to share the beats of our family and save the posts as part of our family history.
